Team PCLinuxOS: Gnome 2.30.2 update now available

Gnome desktop packages have been updated to version 2.30.2 and are now available through the PCLinuxOS Synaptic Package Manager. This update brings small bug fixes and enhancements to the PCLinuxOS Gnome Desktop. The GNOME desktop environment, an intuitive and attractive desktop for users, and the GNOME development platform, an extensive framework for building applications that integrate into the rest of the desktop.

Team PCLinuxOS: Updated Enlightenment packages available

Enlightenment E-17 packages have been updated from their June 27th, 2010 snapshot and packages are in route to the servers. In addition E-themes have been updated to match this svn snapshot. The Enlightenment desktop can be installed through the Synaptic Package Manager by selecting task-enlightenment.  Please note the E-17 desktop is currently under heavy development. If you are looking for a fast desktop that is low on resources and full of eye candy , the E-17 desktop might be for you!

Team PCLinuxOS: KDE 4.4.5 update now available

June 30th, 2010. Today, KDE has released a new version of the KDE Software Compilation (KDE SC). This is expected to be the final bugfix and translation update to KDE SC 4.4. KDE SC 4.4.5 is a recommended update for everyone running KDE SC 4.4.4 or earlier versions. As the release only contains bugfixes and translation updates, it will be a safe and pleasant update for everyone. This update is now available from the PCLinuxOS Synaptic Package Manager.

Team PCLinuxOS: Big Browser updates now available.

All of the web browers for PCLinuxOS 2010 have been updated to their latest versions and should be available from the Synaptic Package Manager later today.  This includes Firefox 3.6.4 with crash protection, Opera 10.11 bug fix update, Seamonkey 2.0.5 and Chromium 6.0 with video and audio tags  H.264, AAC, MP3 and HTML5.

KDE has released a new version of the KDE Software Compilation (KDE SC). This month’s       edition of KDE SC is a bugfix and translation update to KDE SC 4.4. KDE SC 4.4.4 is a recommended update for everyone running KDE SC 4.4.3 or earlier versions. As the release only contains bugfixes and translation updates, it will be a safe and pleasant update for everyone. Update available through the PCLinuxOS Synaptic Package Manager when the mirrors sync.
